Built at the turn of the century and carefully restored, Asheville House has two Victorian homes and two carriage houses on its beautiful property located in the historic Montford District close to downtown Asheville, North Carolina.
Walking past the wrap-around front porch into the main house with its 100 year old heart pine floors, grand foyer, and wood paneling evokes an era of elegant living enjoyed over the last century in this spacious home. The main house is the residence for the boys who live in 7 spacious bedrooms and 6 fully-restored slate-tile bathrooms on the upper floors. Downstairs are the Asheville House offices, a spacious living room and dining room and laundry facilities. A restaurant-grade kitchen serves meals for all the participants in the program.
A large wrap-around porch graces the front of the girl’s residence offering a place for fresh air, community meetings, and time for reflection. Inside, the cozy home has 4 over-sized bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a sunny kitchen and large living room.
The two story carriage house located behind the two homes functions as an education center outfitted with computer work stations for students who take accredited virtual high school and college classes. The Educational Director is on-site to supervise coursework and help participants with their studies.
The spacious elegant Victorian homes, the peaceful large wooded property, the location in the most historic district of Asheville all combine to create a peaceful and restorative environment for all of our residents.
Asheville House can accommodate 18 boys and 9 girls in the program.
