The goal of Asheville House is to meet the individual needs of each student. Asheville House offers students the opportunity to take accredited high school or college classes, obtain a high school degree from an accredited school, get a GED, or prepare for college entrance exams.

Many participants coming to Asheville House have interruptions in their school careers, may be behind in their classes, or have learning differences requiring special assistance.  An educational specialist evaluates the transcripts of each individual student, get an assessment of their specific needs, and puts together a personalized plan that will meet their goals.

In partnership with Educere, a nationally-recognized provider of virtual education classes, a customized offering of courses will be selected from the over 2000 virtual courses and programs available.

Students have the flexibility to enroll in single courses offering full or partial credit that can transfer to other schools.  Those close to their high school degree can receive a high school diploma from an accredited high school.

Supervised blocks of time allow students during the day to focus on their class work in the Asheville House education center, supported by an on-site tutor.  Students who are behind in their school work can begin catching up, can achieve success with our help and support, and can take their course work or credits with them when they leave Asheville House.
